Balmashanner House, an 18th century country home, offers quality family Bed and Breakfast accommodation for tourists and business people on the outskirts of Forfar. Our beautiful but central location will suit leisure, business, anglers, walkers, cyclists, shooting, and wildlife guests alike, we also accept dogs for a small fee. There are many places to walk your dogs within walking distance of our property off the main road allowing you to enjoy this beautiful countryside without any interruption of traffic.Keen golfers have access to the many golf courses including Carnoustie, St Andrews, and locally there is the Forfar, Arbroath, Montrose, Brechin, Edzell (discount vouchers available), Kirriemuir, Letham Grange Golf Clubs who accept day membership. We have one kingsize room, one double room, one twin room and one single room, equipped with a either twin, double or king size beds, a table for your breakfast to be served by the window in your room in the morning.The rooms have been recently refurbished to a comfortable standard and all of our rooms enjoy Freeview television and free Wi-Fi internet access for guests with their own laptops, tablets or smartphones. Rooms share a large bathroom with shower. OUR ROOMS ARE NOT EN-SUITE.

Directions

Balmashanner is located just 5 minutes outside the town of Forfar in Angus and the main A90 network to Aberdeen and Dundee. If travelling from Forfar Town Centre find Lour Road, follow road until you reach the first crossroads (white cottage on the left), turn right, follow road straight up past the cottages on the right and left around the winding road, grey farm buildings on your left, 200 yards on the left is Balmashanner House.If travelling from A90 junction at Lochlands Caravan Park, turn right or left off dual carriage then immediately right and follow the road sign posted Ladenford and Lour. When you reach the first main road on the left Craignathro and Balmashanner take this turning, drive up the hill past the cottages and then the farm buildings on your right, we are 200 yards up the hill on the right, large white country house.
